How do I wash a marching uniform?

You can wash the marching band uniforms – it’s always a good idea when they first get them and before they are turned in

Gentle cycle on cold with non-bleach mild detergent

Cool dry on gentle setting (low)

Or line dry, but it will take a while, so not the night before you need it

Note: hot weather uniform will be khaki shorts and band dry fit

How do they all look the same?

Marching Band is a team sport and it only works when all the pieces fit together – therefore, it’s important to look the same – as much as possible

Hair style requirements: if student hair is long, it must go in a sock bun for band or braids for guard

In cold weather, layer as much as you can underneath the uniform

In extremely cold weather, MPB or black coats may be worn in the stands

Please remind students to have extra items in their locker and/or in their drawstring bag:
Black socks, deodorant, gloves

What is Call Time?

the time when the band members should be in their assigned spot

e.g. if call time is 6pm, a flute might be able to arrive at 5:50pm, but a percussionist might have to arrive at 5:30pm so that everyone is in their seat or on the lot by 6pm.
